Lillie Belle was the daughter of William Jasper "Dock" Sutterfield and Sarah Alice Branscum. On 15 December 1912 at Big Flat, Baxter County, Arkansas, she married George Preston Farris. In 1938, she and her family moved to Lee County, Arkansas, and bought a farm at Oak Forest.
