ROGERS — John Fred Hawkins, age 79, of Rogers passed away on Feb. 18, 2013, in Rogers. He was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Rogers to the late Herbert and Nell Ragsdale Hawkins.
John was a lifetime resident of Rogers where he worked in the accounting department at Daisy, was a comptroller for Demand Foods in Springdale, and then returned to the family-owned business, Hawkins Plumbing in Rogers. He then operated Hawkins Silks and Wellness in Rogers. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his nephew, Gale Hall of Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Hawkins; a brother, Burl Hawkins; and a sister, Martha Brewer.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, with a visitation from 10 a.m until service time on Friday at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Rogers Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
