Another World War II veteran has passed. Jack L Turner Sr, of El Dorado, moved on to "the land of the free and the home of the brave"
Born in Shamrock, Texas, November 22, 1919 Raised and educated in Oklahoma. Started his career in the oil business in Abilene, Texas and came to reside in El Dorado for the past 55 years. Jack, "Chose to move to El Dorado" because of all the trees, creeks and rivers, and there was a way to make a living.
Member of First United Methodist Church, WWII pilot, Rotary Club member, served on Oil and Gas commission and proud of Cherokee heritage.
Lover of nature, music, and people. Took every opportunity to visit a friend, go to a sale, and find a reason to take someone for a plane ride. Lover of life through feast or famine, He considered his most important job was to share stories and spread good cheer and stress the importance of a good sense of humor. A great Dad and even greater granddad, he loved the Lord, his children, and his dog.
Proceeded in death by his wife Marguerite Turner and grand daughter, Rebecca Turner.
Children Jack Turner Jr, Robert Turner, and Janice Turner Hughes.
Six grandchildren, Stephanie, Justin, and Joshua Turner. Natalie, Adam, and Chance Hughes.
Three great grandchildren Liam and Aiden Mantooth and Lilly Turner
Anyone and everyone are welcome to remember him in El Dorado at the First United Methodist Church, Saturday, December, 12th 2:00 p.m. followed by visitation at 3:00 p.m.
