Hugh Turner died Wednesday in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in El Dorado, he was the son of the late Mrs. Joe Turner. He was a member of St. James Baptist Church on Florence Street. His survivors include his widow, Mrs. Artie Turner; three sisters, Mrs. Mandy Huff, Jacksonville, Ark., Mrs. Lucy Howard and Mrs. Birdie Humphrey, both of Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Armon Lovett, El Dorado, and one stepson, Howard Owens, El Dorado. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. James Baptist Church, Rev. L. D. Champion officiating. Burial will be in Lott Burgy under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home.
