Mrs. Marilyn S. Owens, 74, of Conway, Arkansas departed this life Sunday, January 17, 2016. She was born on March 2, 1941 in Mt. Vernon, AR to Ollie Mae Logan Johnson and James R. Owens.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Raymond Owens, Rosie Guiden and Melvin Draper.

Marilyn confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. She later joined Greater Pleasant Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Marilyn attended school in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Pine Street. She retired from the Conway Human Development Center on April 3, 2001 and was a member of the Red Hatless Club.

She is survived by her son, James E. Owens of Conway, AR; one brother, Nathaniel Johnson, Jr. of Conway, AR; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four nephews; one niece; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and a very special friend from the beginning to the end, Theodore Bunting.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, 601 Spruce Street, Conway, AR. Visitation 5:00-6:30 P.M. Friday, January 22, 2016 at the church. Interment Robinson Cemetery in Conway, AR.
