Lila M. Moore, age 92, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, September 8, 2011. She was born November 19, 1918 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Samuel D. and Ruby E. Williams. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, J.C. "Cy" Moore.
Lila was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as well as a wonderful and gracious friend to all she met. She was a long time member of Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene where she sang in the choir, served on the church board and missionary council. The Lord gave her the heart of a servant and she brought God glory with her gift of serving others.
Lila's love, patience, gentleness, and kindness were evident in all she said and did. As an accomplished seamstress she spent many hours in loving labor sewing clothing, drapes and other home décor for her children and grandchildren. Her life was one of joyfully sacrificing for her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Linda Wilkins of Oklahoma City and Judi (Edgar) Crabb of Little Rock; one sister, Edna Lavonne Lukas of Jacksonville, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Mark Jones of Seattle, Washington, Brent (Julie) Wilkins of Oklahoma City, Melissa (Eric) Burkes of Lansdale, Pennsylvania; and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Brockington Road Church of the Nazarene, 9860 Brockington Rd, Sherwood, AR 72120. Family visitation will be at the church at 10:00 a.m. preceding the service.
Interment at Vilonia Cemetery, Vilonia, AR. Arrangements made by Roller-Owens Funeral Home (501-791-7400).
