David Grey Moore, 70, of Sherwood, AR. Died on 8-20-09 at his home. David was born in Mebane, NC, on 11-29-38. He was the son of Coy Lee Moore and Bessie Glover.
David is survived by his wife Joyce Ann Moore and two children, Julie and Doug Dunbar of West Plains, MO, and Chris and Chrissie Moore of Ft. Worth, TX; a sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and James Kerley of Mebane, NC; 6 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Wayne Moore, and two sons, Michael and Jeffrey Moore.
David was a retired Major in the USAF (1957-1980). He earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Maryland (1966) and a Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas (1976). He was a residential building contractor from 1980-2009. His awards include the Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal (2), Meritarious Service Medal and Bronze Star Medal. He served as the Director of Information for the Air Force Communicators and Air Traffic Controllers Association. He was a member of the Arkansas Home Builders Association and involved in numerous community service projects.
