Wade - June 12, 1900 - January 28, 1981

Miss Edna Quarterman, 84, 1028 Washington St., died early Thursday morning in the Ouachita Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born October 1, 1884 in Ouachita County to Robert H. and Annie Watson Quarterman and a member of a pioneer family. "Miss Edna" as she was known, was a clerk in a downtown dry goods store in the early 20's. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and served for many years as secretary of the TEL Class at the church. She is survived by one brother, Wade Quarterman; two nieces, Mrs. Leonard Legett, and Mrs. John L. Wilson, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Harriett Quarterman, all of Camden. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Proctor's Chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Legett, 642 Maul Rd. (Camden News - April 10, 1969)
