Ruth Mildred Cummings, 87, of Conway died Tuesday, November 29, 2005. She was born May 11, 1918 in Greenbrier to the late Lewis H. Matthews and Tommie Deberry Matthews. She was the widow of Charles W. Cardin and George W. Cummings.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church, member of the Eastern Star, member of College Square Red Hat Club, retired music teacher at Conway Human Development Center and a piano teacher for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Tommie Sue Anthony of Conway; step-son,George W. Cummings Jr. of Winnsboro, LA; grandson, Charles Anthony of Conway; six step-grandchildren, Libby Olson, Ben Hobson, Frances Hart, George Cummings III, Paul Cummings and Sue Ellen Cascio and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a step-son Morris Cummings, step-daughter Ella Lou Hobson and a step-grandson David Cummings.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery with Bro. Don Chandler officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Bill and Tommy Hoggard, Norman Crass, Richard Matthews, Stan Ivy and Lewis Dalton. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Wayne Anthony, George W. Cummings, Jr., Bob Williams, Jim Cardin and Wallace Hobson.
Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church or the Martha G. Bass Scholarship at University of Arkansas at Little Rock
