Shelby Jean Gibbs Acklin, 79, of Holland passed from this life on November 24, 2016. She was born December 25, 1936 in Holland, Arkansas to Vernon Gibbs and Velma Wilson Gibbs. Shelby met her husband Jimmie when she was 9 and he was 11. They were married almost 62 years before his passing. At age 40, Shelby returned to school and received her Bachelor's Degree from ASU. She went on to receive a Master's in Social Work from UALR. She was employed by the VA Hospital in Little Rock and was also a devoted pastor's wife until retirement.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jimmie Charles Acklin and sister Lynn Spring.
Survivors include daughter Larna Humble and husband Daniel of Brinkley, son Steve Acklin and wife Laura of Little Rock, grandchildren Jonathan Humble, Jeffrey Humble, Kara DiCarlo and husband Vance, Rachel Eckles and husband Clark, Wesley Acklin, David Brazzell and wife Claudia, Taylor Kelley and husband Preston, Waverly Brazzell, great grandchildren Henry Humble, Evelyn Jean DiCarlo and David Anthony Brazzell III. Other survivors include siblings Doug Gibbs and wife Kim of Fortuna, California, Carolyn Lucas of Northern California and Ray "Dusty" Gibbs and wife Karen of Eureka, California along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm, Tuesday, November 29, 2016 Bishop-Crites Funeral Home with Bro. Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Holland.

Jimmie Charles Acklin 81, of Vilonia went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 6, 2016. He was born on September 3, 1934 in Holland, Arkansas to the late Clyde Acklin and Thelma Grisham Acklin. Jimmie owned an antique store in Eureka, California. He felt God calling him into the ministry and he moved his family to Arkansas to go to school and pastor. Jimmie retired as pastor of Holland Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Hazel Cochran, Edwin Acklin, Edna Brown and Patsy Goode.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter, Larna Humble and husband Daniel of Brinkley; son, Steve and wife Laura of Little Rock; grandchildren, Jonathan Humble, Jeffrey Humble, Kara DiCarlo and husband Vince, Rachel Eckles and husband Clark and Wesley Acklin; great grandson, Henry Humble; sister, Barbara Buerer and host of other family and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday June 9, 2016 at Oakland Cemetery, Holland, Arkansas; with Bro. Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating.
