Joseph P. Gann was born in Johnson Co., Mo. in the year 1845. He had lived near town for a number of years until his death after a short sickness which occurred at his home about two and one half miles northeast of Gentry, January 24, 1914 at the age of sixty-nine years and one month. Mr. Gann professed religion and joined the church in his early life and maintained his religious zeal to the end. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and nine children, four girls and five boys, all but two of whom were present at the funeral. He has gone from our home but not from our hearts. Rev. L.A. Turner of the Congregational church conducted the services at the home Monday afternoon, Jan. 26 and the remains were interred at the Flint Creek cemetery, 1 mile south of town.
