Mrs. Ruby Faye Prescott Muse, 102, of Conway, was called home to the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, joining beloved family members and friends who had preceded her. She was born on April 18, 1909, in Morganton, Arkansas, to the late John C. and Annie Lee Short Prescott. She also was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Charles V. Muse; brothers Clyde and Frank Prescott; sisters Edith Studer, Ruth Cardin, and Blanche Prescott; and an infant sibling.

She was dearly beloved among her family and friends. She treasured them, as well, and was a faithful friend. Among those that remain to cherish her blessed memory are her son, Larry Muse (Hope); granddaughter, Rebecca Hyland (John); grandsons, Edward Muse, Jr. (Dana); and John Muse (Jennifer); and five great-grandchildren: Hannah and Josh Hyland, Eddie and Sara Muse, and Rylee Muse, all of Virginia. She also leaves a nephew, Max Prescott (Pheribie), of Georgia; three nieces, Ann Cross and Billie Kemmerly, of Louisiana, and Brucie Swink of Tennessee; a grandnephew, Edward Oglesby, the son of a cherished niece, the late Barbara Oglesby, and his family, of Little Rock; a second cousin, Jean Flynn, of Oklahoma; and numerous other dear friends and relatives. Among these are long-time close and faithful friends Geraldean Johnson, Jerry and Linda Williams, and Julie Horne.

Mrs. Muse was a devout Christian since childhood and, most recently, was a dedicated member of College Avenue Church of the Nazarene. She taught Sunday school there for 20 years and served in other capacities, until age 85.

Mrs. Muse graduated from James Business College. She worked for Dr. James H. Flanagan as his dental assistant, from 1929 to 1933. She was a homemaker until 1952, and then worked in the retail business, until December 1969, when she retired.

After retiring, Mrs. Muse cared for her beloved husband until his death, in 1971. She enjoyed homemaking and spending time with relatives and friends. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed reading, and was an excellent writer and somewhat of a poet. She also eagerly continued her work in the church, as long as she was able.

Mrs. Muse was delighted with each addition of a grandchild to her family. In later years, she was blessed with, and took great pleasure in, her five great-grandchildren. She looked forward with much anticipation to each visit with them.
Mrs. Muse was loving, caring and kind; always concerned about others. She truly was a blessing and her memory continues to be. She leaves a void that cannot be filled. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m., Friday, February 17, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, in Conway. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Don Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Edward Muse, Jr., John Muse, John Hyland, Edward Oglesby, Jerry Williams and Freddy Williams.
