Mr. Rendel J. Deatherage, age 79 of Gassville passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 in Gassville. He was born June 30, 1937 in Gainesville, MO to Cecil J. Deatherage and Madge Pelham Deatherage. He married Mary Lea Cranfill in 1960. Mr. Deatherage was a member of the Mountain Home First Assembly of God
Church. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed watching Nascar and gazing at the deer on his land.
He is survived by a daughter, Reneta (Steven) Dewey of Gassville; 3 grandchildren, Kaitlyn Dewey, Jarod Dewey and Jimmy Morgan; a sister Fern (James) Brown of Monticello, AR; numerous nieces and nephews, family & friends and a close friend Melba Wallis. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Mary Lea Deatherage on Oct. 10. 1999, 2 brothers: Harold
Deatherage and Hermas Deatherage and a sister Shirley Morgan. Visitation will be from 12-9 PM Thursday Sept. 8 at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-8 PM. A funeral service conducted by Pastor Micah
Wells and Brother Tim Bryant will be held 2:00 PM Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 at
Roller Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Whiteville Cemetery.
