LARUE — Marie Tate, LaRue, Ark., was born April 13, 1925, in Oak Grove, La, and passed away Dec. 6, 2012.

Marie was the daughter of Hub Sanders and Mabelle Lilly Sanders.

She leaves behind her soulmate, the love of her life, and husband of 67 years, Bub Tate. Family and friends were the most cherished part of her life. She was a strong-willed, fun-loving woman with a zest for life. She loved to cook for two or 20. Among her specialties were old fashioned buttermilk biscuits and apple cake.

Marie and Bub loved the lake. They enjoyed fishing, and water skied into their 50s. Every kid that came by was taught to ski. She and Bub could always be found on their front porch watching the fish jump and the geese fly. Marie sat up countless hours with the sick. She loved quilting, clerked auctions and volunteered at the polls.

In addition to her husband, survivors include one sister, Juanita Loveless of Odessa, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and a multitude of friends. Special thanks to dear friend, John Newlun, and the staff at Fayetteville Health and Rehab.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., today, Dec. 9, 2012, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark., with Pastor Mike Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Gentry Cemetery, Gentry, Ark. Visitation was Saturday at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2448 E. 81st Street, Suite 3000, Tulsa, OK 74137.
