Norma Jean Bailey McHenry, 62, of Oklahoma City, Okla., formerly of Conway, died Saturday (Aug. 10, 2002) in Los Angeles, Calif., after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 7, 1939, in Conway to the late Eve Tadlock Bailey and AD Bailey, she was educated in Conway Public Schools and attended the University of Arkansas and the University of Central Arkansas. In recent years she had resided in Oklahoma City, where she was employed as an accountant in the oil industry. She participated in the following organizations: Desk and Derrick (former officer and director), Oklahoma City Round Dance Club, Metro Singles Round Dance Club and the Central District of Oklahoma Square Dance Association (officer). She was a member of the Church of the Servant Methodist Church.
Survivors include two children, Laura McHenry Fisher of Atlanta, Ga., and Julia Catherine McHenry of Redondo Beach, Calif.; five grandsons; a sister, Julia Bailey Hendrickson of Conway; and three brothers, A. David Bailey of Bartlesville, Okla., Thomas D. Bailey of Boston, Mass., and Rev. William B. Bailey of Richmond, Ky.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 14, 2002) at the First United Methodist Church Chapel in Conway. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the American Diabetes Association. Local arrangements are by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, 327-7727.
