BENTONVILLE — Margaret Oletha Howard, 78, of Bentonville, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. She was born Jan. 15, 1937, in Springdale to Tommie Raymond and Ethel Mozelle (Haskins) Lockhart.

Margaret was a very generous and caring person. She had an amazing sense of humor and was always the life of the party. She retired in 1999 after 31 years with the state of Arkansas as manager of the tourist information center in Bella Vista.

She loved her work and was an avid reader. She was a member of Park Street Baptist Church in Bentonville. Margaret faced much adversity throughout her life but always came out smiling. Her strength was awe inspiring to those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her two beloved sons, Dennis and Steve Howard, and her best friend, Phyllis Spradlin.

She is survived by five grandchildren, David Howard, Jennifer Howard, Samantha Howard and Lacey Howard all of Bentonville, Josh Howard of Fountain, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Wade and Jaden Howard; two sisters, Charlsie Griffith and husband Gene of Tulsa, Lorene Neal of Springdale; and one brother, Wayne Lockhart and wife Hannah of Springdale.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Park Street Baptist Church. Interment will be at Elm Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale, online guest book at www.heritageofnwa.com.
