Mrs. Mattie Ann Thompson age 77 of Smackover, Ark. died in the Ouachita County Hospital at 8:25 p.m., Thursday night. Mrs. Thompson was a resident of Smackover for 35 years. She was born December 12, 1886 at Longstreet, La. The daughter of Douglas Farggerson and Sally Burrough Fargerson. She is survived by two daughters Mrs. H. P. Hesterly of Camden and Mrs. Gus Gajdosik of Dayton, Texas. Five sons J. B. Thompson of Abilene, Tex., Rube Thompson, Bourger, Texas, Lawrence Thompson, Hitchcock, Tex., Dug Thompson, Longview, Clarence Thompson, Smackover, Ark. One sister Mrs. John Cazol, Greenwood, Ark. 11 grandchildren. Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the First Methodist Church in Smackover, with Rev. Harold K. Davis, Rev. Geo. Ivey. Burial will be in the Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Funeral Home. (Camden News - February 17, 1963)
