Toliver Willis Rhodes, 74, of Smackover, died at a Smackover hospital Friday after a lingering illness. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nora Rhodes; two sons, James R. Martin and James Henry Rhodes, both of Smackover; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Jones, Shreveport, La., and Mrs. Mary Patterson, Ft. Worth, Tex., and one grandchild. Funeral services will be at the Maple Avenue Baptist Church of Smackover at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Lewis E. Clark officiating. Burial will be in Cross Roads Cemetery by Pratt Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the family residence at 10 a.m. Saturday. Pallbearers will be C. G. Coleman, Buck Stedman, Melvin Vick, R. E. Wells, Chuck Norris and Glenn Stedman. (The El Dorado Times - August 1, 1964)
