Kermit W. Phillips, age 67, of Greenbrier, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2003, at Conway Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Phillips was born on March 19, 1935, in Holland, a son to the late Fred M. Phillips and Madie McGaha Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was the owner of Phillips Piano Service of Conway. He was an avid country and western music fan. He started his own band called "Kermit & Shirley Phillips and the Rhythmettes" many years ago; they entertained for the Faulkner County Fair for 34 years. He was also a member of the Central Baptist Church in Conway.
He is preceded in death by an infant twin brother, Kyrel N. Phillips; and two other brothers, Hurshel and Carman M. Phillips.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Saundra Spears Phillips; two sons, Terry W. Phillips and wife D Ann of Greenbrier, and Marty G. Phillips and wife Robbie of Mount Vernon; one sister, Shirley A. Phillips of Conway; four grandchildren, Christy English and husband Jeremy of Rose Bud, Eric Phillips and wife Vanda of Conway, and Michelle and Mark Phillips, both of Greenbrier; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
There will be a gathering of remembrance held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2003, at Oakland United Methodist Church in Holland with the Revs. Don Chandler and Jack Bloxom officiating. Pallbearers will be Gayle Glover, Stanley Woodard, Hallis Phillips, David Phillips, Ronnie McGaha, Walter Murdock, Steve Phillips, and Butch Robinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Phillips, Randy Phillips, Donny Phillips, and Scott Snyder. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.
