M. L. Phillips, 73, Dies at His Home
Martin Luther Phillips, 73, a retired farmer, died today (Aug. 22, 1961) at his home in the Hayes Addition after an illness of two days.
Mr. Phillips was born May 20, 1888 at Memphis, Tenn., and had lived in Conway 19 years. He formerly resided at Guy.
He married Allie E Andrews in 1920. She survives.
Other survivors are five sons, Ealon of San Diego, Calif., Cecil of Lewiston, Idaho, Eugene of Pittsburgh, Calif., and Dain and M L Phillips, Jr., both of Conway; seven daughters, Mrs. Opal Troy of Yuba City, Calif., Mrs. Venice Talley of Spinner, Alaska, Mrs. Mary Pattelkou of You Hill, Ore., Miss Julia Mae Phillips of Little Rock, Mrs. Mildred Costa of Alindo, Calif., Miss Freda Ann of Lewiston, Idaho and Mrs. Lois Marie Cooper of Conway; six Sisters, Mrs. Nettie Hall of New Edinburgh, Ark., Mrs. Lena Stacks and Mrs. Dollie Parker, both of Lewiston, Idaho, and Mrs. Leanner Barringer, Mrs. Nora Coty and Mrs Evie Shirley, all of Pine Bluff; three brothers, B. Phillips of Star City, Carter Phillips of Warren and Otis Phillips of New Edinburgh, 24 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be announced by McNutt Funeral Home.
