Emily Stroud Dunlap, 80 passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at St. Vincent’s in Morrilton. She was born on July 18, 1937 to the family of Morgan and Ollie (Beavers) Stroud in Morrilton, Arkansas. Emily was an active member of the Methodist Church in Mallettown where she served as church secretary, as well as served on many various committees. She attended Petit Jean Vo-tech where she received her GED and continued her education to get her certification in Bookkeeping. Emily was blessed with a beautiful voice, loved to sing and pursued training by enrolling in singing school. She really enjoyed going to concerts her children performed and loved listening while they sang their gospel music.

On June 25, 1953, Emily became the happy young bride of Faber Earl Dunlap. Over the years they were blessed to share in the joys and memories of raising five children. In time they were given the added joy of seeing them mature and began families of their own.


Outside the home Emily worked as a Regional Supervisor for Kenwin Dress Shops, for a time with Arrow Auto Manufacturing and was very active in the family trucking business that hauled dairy for the local farmers. She was also employed at Mallory Construction for a period of time. In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening and found great pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Morgan and Ollie Stroud; husband, Faber Dunlap; step-mother, Grace Tilley Stroud; brothers, Trenton and Quenton Stroud; granddaughters, Angie Dunlap, Jamie Lee Stanton; and son-in-law, James L. Stanton.


She is survived by her sons, Mike Dunlap (Lisa) of Mallettown, Troy Dunlap (Zaneta) of Greenbrier, daughters, Rita Birch (Rob) of Morrilton, Mary Mallory (Don) of Conway, Ricki Watson (David) of North Carolina, brother, Rev. Eudale Stroud of Jonesboro, sister; Lois Holloway of Morrilton; and 7 grandchildren, Chad, Josh, Joe, Chris, Morgan, Clint, and Hope, and 7 great grandkids.

Visitation will be from 6:00PM Til 8:00PM Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the funeral home. Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday May 25, 2018 at Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Morrilton, with burial at Mallettown Cemetery.

Faber Earl Dunlap, age 80, of Springfield, Ark., left his earthly life and entered eternity on Friday, October 26, 2012.
Faber was born on September 22, 1932, in Mallettown, a son to the late John Murphy Dunlap and Annie Naomi Mallett Dunlap.
Mr. Dunlap was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, a self-employed farmer, truck driver and drove for Sugar Creek Foods. Mr. Dunlap was a member of Mallettown Methodist Church, he attended the Springfield School, and enjoyed working on Tractors and Trucks.
Faber is survived by his wife, Emily Stroud Dunlap of Mallettown; Two Sons: Troy Dunlap and wife Zaneta of Greenbrier, Michael Dunlap and wife Lisa of Mallettown; Three Daughters: Rita Birch and husband Robert Jr. of Morrilton, Mary Mallory and husband Don of Conway, Ricki Stanton Watson and husband David of Hickory, N.C.; Three Brothers: Wesley Dunlap of Mallettown, Pat and Lloyd Dunlap, both of Memphis; 7 grandchildren: Chad, Josh, Joe, Clint and Hope Dunlap, Christopher and Morgan Birch; and 3 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughters, Jamie Stanton and Angela Dunlap; Son-in-law, James Stanton; two sisters: Meb Stanton and Willie Kellar.
Visitation for Mr. Dunlap will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2012, at Bob Neal and Sons Chapel.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Mike Daniel and Bro. Hawk Coleman officiating.
Interment will follow in Mallettown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mallettown Church or Cemetery 19 Town Circle, Sringfield, AR 72157.
