Woodrow "Woody" Alax Russell, 38, of Garland, Texas, formerly of Springdale, died Monday, March 4, at his home.

He was born May 12, 1952, at Crane, Texas, to H.E. Russell and Doris Coker Russell. He moved to northwest Arkansas in 1964, graduated from Springdale High School in 1970 and attended the University of Arkansas. He was vice president in charge of sales for Liquid Packaging Co. in Dallas, Texas. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion of Frankford in Dallas.

Survivors are his parents of Springdale; his wife, Leslie Russell; two sons, Blake and Jeffrey Russell, both of the home; a daughter, Laura Russell of the home; three brothers, Marion Russell of Dallas, and Johnny and Jimmy Russell, both of Springdale; and a sister, Norma Fitzwater of DeSota, Texas.

Funeral service is set for 2 p.m. Thursday at White Oak Church west of Fayetteville with the Rev. Bonner Teeter and Rev. Max Whitfield officiating. Burial is to be in White Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers will be from his 1970 graduation class. Visitation is set for 1 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
