Auburn Dan Howard, 60, of Strong, died Saturday in a Shreveport, La. hospital. Born June 25, 1907 in Banks, Ark., he was the son of Sam D. and Laura Fike Howard. He was a retired army officer, a member of the VFW and the American Legion and a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. Survivors include two brothers, Ned A. Howard and W. B. Howard, both of Strong. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Old Lapile Cemetery near Strong. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. (El Dorado Times - June 17, 1968)
