Charles Edward Dame - Farmer and carpenter
WALNUT RIDGE -- Charles Edward Dame, 80, of Walnut Ridge died Monday, Feb. 28, at his residence.

Born at Walnut Ridge, he was a farmer and carpenter and a member of United Church of God at Sedgwick.

Survivors include his wife, Aleeta Miller Dame of the home; a daughter, Betty Petty of Sedgwick; a son, Buel Dame of Walnut Ridge; two brothers, James Ray Dame of Pocahontas and Billy Joe Dame of Walnut Ridge; three sisters, Leona Debow of Sedgwick and Juanita Wallis and Loretta Turner, both of Rockford, Ill.; five grandchildren, Charles Petty, Rhonda Simms, Andrea Kapales, Corwin Petty and Jill Whitley; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Monroe and Fannie Stone Dame, one brother and four sisters.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.

WALNUT RIDGE -- Funeral services for Charles Edward Dame, 80, of Walnut Ridge, who died Monday, Feb. 28, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.

Steve Moody and Al Mischnick will officiate, and burial will follow in Old Military Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Walter Smith, Lehman Conrey, Bobby Cupp, Stanley Debow, David Cupp and Larry Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will include Dennis Manus, Jerry Griffith, Ike Debow, James Debow, Kenneth Turner, David Dame, John Austin, Jim Austin, Willard Wallis and Harold Manus.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Aleeta Dame, 96, of Walnut Ridge passed away March 9, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

Born July 6, 1926 in Monette, daughter of the late O.B. and Lela Maxwell Miller. She was united in marriage to Charles Edward Dame on February 6, 1943. She earned a living working in a factory for General Electric. After retirement she started developing buildings and helped build several homes. Aleeta loved gardening and working in her flowerbeds, cooking, learning and reading. She was a member of the Church of God in Sedgwick.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dame; and one sister, Marie Manus.

Survivors include two children, Betty Lou (John L.) Petty, and Buel (Peggy) Dame all of Sedgwick; five grandchildren, Charles S. (Valerie) Petty, Corwin Petty, Rhonda (Shane) Pattillo, Andrea (Kevin) Kapales, and Jill Whitley; twelve great grandchildren, Stephann Miller, Christen Lewis, Colton Petty, Emma Petty, Chase Petty, Morganne Dame, Jacob Whitley, Austin Whitley, Landon Whitley, Makenzie Kapales, Andrew Kapales, and Aubrey Kapales; four great-great grandchildren, Drake Nash, Piper Dame, Caegan Dame, Jaxtyn Charles Miller soon to arrive; one sister, Reba M. Berry of Sedgwick; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Church of God in Sedgwick with Mr. Justin Adkins officiating. Active pallbearers will be Jacob Whitley, Austin Whitley, Landon Whitley, Chase Petty, Colton Petty, and Andrew Kapales. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Petty, Corwin Petty, and Dennis Manus. Interment will follow in the Old Military Cemetery in Sedgwick.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
