Mrs. Lou Anna Pickering, 69, Rt. 3, El Dorado, died Wednesday afternoon in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. The daughter of William B. and Elizabeth Haynie Jones, she was born Jan. 30, 1898, in Union County. A lifelong resident of Union County, she was a member of Parkers Chapel Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, George D. Pickering; seven sons, Paul F. Pickering, El Dorado, Cecil Pickering, Aurora, Colo., John W. Pickering, Snyder, Tex., Clarence F. Pickering, Fort Smith, George D. Pickering, Jr., Vicksburg, Miss, Chester E. Pickering, West Helena, and James E. Pickering, North Little Rock; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Perdue and Mrs. Sarah E. Cameron, both of El Dorado; one brother, James F. Jones, North Little Rock; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Foster and Mrs. Gussie Fitzgerald, both of Wesson; 30 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Parkers Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. W. W. Barron and the Rev. Ralph Mann officiating. Burial will follow in the New Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jewel W. Morgan, John L. Morgan, Jr., James S. Morgan, Doyle E. Morgan, Noel L. Morgan, Jr. and Randall Lee Morgan. (El Dorado Daily News - April 4, 1967)
