Minor J. Allen 83, of Greenbrier passed away at his home, on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. Born in Tyler, TX on August 28, 1925 he was a son of the late William Jefferson and Georgia Ann (Uber) Allen. Minor was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed deer hunting. He was a member of the Greenbrier Church of the Nazarene, Sheet Metal Workers Union No. 36, Greenbrier Masonic Lodge No. 290, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2259. Three brothers and five sisters also preceded him in death.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife of 61 years, Izettie (Freeman) Allen; three sons: Ronnie Allen and wife Brenda of Warren, AR, Glee Allen of Greenbrier, and Glen Allen and wife Regenia of Enola; four grandchildren: Shane Allen and wife Stephanie of Greenbrier, Adam Allen of Warren , AR, Renette Smith and husband Brian of Enola, and Kristy Rowlett and husband Ken of Cedarville, AR; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ethel Butler of Lumberton, MS and Veneta Jones of Greenville, KY and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, November 14, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jim Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Henderson Cemetery.
