Wife of Otis Benson
Mrs. Mattie Inzer Benson, 81, of Hampton, died Saturday. Funeral services for Mrs. Benson were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Woodberry Baptist Church in Hampton. Burial followed in Means Cemetery in Calhoun County. Services were under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home of Camden. Mrs. Benson was a member of the Woodberry Baptist Church, and was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. Survivors include four sons, Clarence Strickland, Hall Strickland and Hamp Strickland, all of Hampton and Berry Strickland of Louisville, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Simpson and Mrs. Ella Mae Oliver, both of Hampton; two brothers, Herbert Lee Blann of Hampton and W. T. Blann of El Dorado; one sister, Mrs. Clarence Johnson of Harrell; 28 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. (Camden News - July 15, 1974)
