Ina Murdine Powell, age 80 of Damascus, died Saturday, December 29, 2001 at Conway Regional Medical Center. She was born November 9, 1921 in Center Ridge, Arkansas to S. W. Martin McKim and Emily Mae Steeley McKim. She was retired from the Conway Public School System where she worked in the cafeteria. She was the widow of Ray Powell and a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Holland and husband Larry, and Raydean Wood and husband Billy both of Damascus; and a son, David Powell and wife Nancy of Hackett, Arkansas. Other survivors include her nine grandchildren, Kevin Holland, Ken Holland, Michelle Wood, and Craig Wood all of Damascus, Kathy Smith of Quitman, Cherri Ferrell and Marty Powell both of Guy, Kim Ledbetter of Fayetteville and Gary Powell of Fort Smith and her fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Powell; a son, Martin Edward Powell; two brothers, Alvin McKim and Calvin McKim; four sisters, Nada Banning, Montine Thomas Williams, Maxine Keller and Savannah Robinson. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2002 in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier with burial in Martinville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
