DECATUR — Chester William Penn, 79, of Decatur died Dec. 4, 2006, at Golden Living Center in Rogers. He was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Noel, Mo., to Howard and Annie Cantrell Penn. He grew up in Noel and was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Italy as a military policeman. He married Eula Faye Hooten, on Jan. 10, 1950. He worked most of his life in he logging industry.

He later drove a bus and was janitor for Southwest City School. In 1990, he retired from McDonald County Housing Authority, where he had been employed for 12 years. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, where he served as a priest. He was an avid reader, gardener and coon hunter. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Valerie, Whitten.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Faye Penn of the home; four sons, Lloyd Penn and great-grandson, Trenton Penn, both of the home, David Penn of Noel, Randy Penn wife Cheryl of Riverton, Kan., and Phillip Penn and wife Anna of Garfield; three daughters, Shirley Whitten of Benton, Anna Easter of Little Rock and Pam Jones and husband Jim of Rogers: 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Oscar Penn of Cassville, Mo., Louis Penn of Texas and Frank Penn of Noel; two sisters, Frieda Burnett of Gravette and Louise Hobbs of Southwest City, Mo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ozark Funeral Home in Noel. Burial with military honors will be in Butler Creek Cemetery near Sulphur Springs. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Eula Faye Penn, 78, of Rogers, Arkansas formerly of Noel, Missouri departed this life on Friday evening, November 18, 2011 at the Jamestown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rogers, Arkansas.

Faye entered this life on January 21, 1933 in Noel, Missouri born to the late Uriah Hester and Cora Lee (Tinnin) Hooten. She was raised in Noel and was a 1950 graduate of Noel High School. On January 10, 1950 she was united in marriage to Chester William Penn and to this union three daughters and four sons were born. Besides being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Faye also had worked for Emerson Electric, was a cook at the Southwest City Elementary School and was a Nutrition Specialist for the University of Missouri Extension Office. She enjoyed dancing, quilting, sewing, cooking and possessed a great love for children. She was a longtime faithful member of the RLDS Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-six years, Chester William Penn on December 4, 2006; a granddaughter, Valerie Whitten; and seven siblings.

Faye is survived by three daughters, Shirley Whitten of Sheffield, Alabama, Anna Jarrett and husband, Alan, of Springdale, Arkansas and Pam Jones and husband, Jim, of Rogers, Arkansas; four sons, Lloyd Penn of Bentonville, Arkansas, David Penn of Pineville, Missouri, Randy Penn and wife, Cheryl, of Riverton, Kansas and Phillip Penn and wife, Anna, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Penn are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 in the Noel Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Melvin Doubledee and Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Butler Creek Cemetery near Sulphur Springs, Arkansas. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Mike Townsend, Mark Baker, Darrell Burnett, Mark Wimer, Bill Hobbs and Sam Penn. Lee Combs, Bill Custard and G.W. Tompkins will be serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
