PENN, J. Barton - J. Barton Penn was born May 13, 1885 at Montgomery City, Mo.; was married to Oneita Anderson of Dallas, Texas and three children blessed their home. He united with the Baptist church at Stamford, Texas nine years ago but for the past two years had been living at Joplin where his death occurred Monday, March 3rd after an illness of flu-pneumonia. His body was brought to Rogers Monday night and funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church Tuesday afternoon by Rev. J.D. Bowles and burial was in the city cemetery. Besides his wife and children he leaves a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. H.T. Penn, two brothers, Jess and Clyde, and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Hudspeth and Miss Lucile Penn, to mourn his departure and the Democrat joins with the many friends in extending sympathy.
