HOUSTON, Texas — Daniel E. Puryear, 64, died Aug. 5, 2011, in Houston, Texas. He was born in Noel, Mo., on July 24, 1947, to the late William B. and Ruth Mae (Edwards) Puryear. He was the loving husband of Vicky Puryear.

Daniel was retired from Tyson Foods. He had a passion for photography, playing the banjo, mandolin and guitar, fishing and restoring cars.

Mr. Puryear also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a wonderful grandfather to all his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of Houston; his two sons, William "Bill" Puryear of Wyandotte, Okla., Daniel "Bob" Puryear of Columbus, Kan.; three stepsons, Wayne Houchin of Las Vegas, Nev., Alex Houchin and Jason Houchin, both of Rogers; stepdaughter, Andrea Houchin of Columbus, Ohio; and brother, Darrell Brown, Tulsa, Okla. He has four grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, 11:30 3.M. in the Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers.

Burial will follow at Butler Creek Cemetery, Sulphur Springs, Ark.

His visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
