James William "J.W." Crawley, 86, a resident of Prairie Grove passed away May 25, 2014, at his home. He was born April 21, 1928, in Washington County, Ark., the son of Loyd Emerson and Bessie Norris Crawley.

J.W. farmed on the Crawley farm in the Bugscuffle Community, worked as a coremaker for several years in Wichita, Kansas. Then worked for years in construction and Campbell Soup and retired from both.

He was preceded in death by his son Stephen Crawley, his brother Joe Crawley and his parents.

He is survived by his wife Betty Erickson Crawley who he married in Salem, Oregon on June 30, 1951; two sons James Crawley and wife Donna of West Fork and Larry Crawley and wife Karen of Prairie Grove; one daughter Bonita Tyree and husband Randy of Prairie Grove; six grandchildren Matthew Crawley and wife Monica of Van Buren, Stephanie Crawley of West Fork, Charity Ruley and husband Ulysses, Rachel Dixon and husband William, Valerie Doyle and husband Tim and Crystal Hamilton and husband Luke all of Prairie Grove; honorary grandson Josh Smith and wife Robyn of Farmington. Eleven great-grandchildren Sloane and Sophia Miller of West Fork, Haily and Isabelle Crawley of Van Buren, Ty and Emy Ruley of Prairie Grove, Kaid Peck and Brighton Doyle of Prairie Grove, Kinnison, Kimber and Kanyon Hamilton of Prairie Grove; honorary great-grandchildren Makayia, Savanah and Bentley Smith of Farmington. He is also survied by a sister-in-law Orabelle Crawley; two nephews John Crawley and Bob Crawley; two great nephews J.T. and Cassidy Crawley all of Springdale.

J.W. was the best husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather anyone could want, he loved his family more than life itself.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove with John Hooser and L.V. Vickery officiating. Grave side service followed at Bugscuffle Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Randy Tyree, William Dixon, Luke Hamilton, Ulysses Ruley, Matt Crawley, and Josh Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Stephanie Crawley, Rachel Dixon, Valerie Doyle, Charity Ruley, Crystal Hamilton, and Tim Doyle.
