FAYETTEVILLE — Gayle Carl Bridges, 78, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Feb. 10, 2013, at Willard Walker Hospice House, Fayetteville, Ark. Born Jan. 2, 1935, in Decatur, Ark, he was the son of Delbert Jefferson Bridges and Clarice Mabel Rice Bridges.

Gayle was a 1953 graduate of Gentry High School and attended business college in Tulsa. He lived in the community over 50 years and was an accounting clerk for Arkansas Western Gas for more than 40 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Ark.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Davis Bridges of the home; one son, Carl Bridges and wife, Lisa of Elkins, Ark.; one daughter, Clarice Ooten of Fayetteville, Ark.; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark., with the Rev. Vida Williams officiating.

Shirley Anne Bridges 79 of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died January, 7, 2015, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born October 9, 1935, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, she was the daughter of William Audrey Davis and Grace Mildred Harwell. She was a long time resident of Fayetteville. Shirley was a graduate of Fayetteville, and earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas and received a teaching certificate. She taught full time for a period. She later moved back to Fayetteville where she was a substitute teacher for many years. Mrs. Bridges was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gayle Carl Bridges in 2013.

Survivors include a son, Carl Davis Bridges and wife Lisa of Elkins; a daughter, Clarice Ooten of Fayetteville, Arkansas; 3 grandchildren; and one brother, George Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Wasson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Vida Williams officiating. Private burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery, Decatur.
