Houston Saxton Bell, 96, of Judsonia, died Sunday, May 10, 2015. He was born December 6, 1918 in Searcy a son of the late Clinton and Annie Porter Bell.

He was a retired molder for the Matthews Bronze Company. He was a very proud US Army/Air Corp veteran and served in W.W. II as a tailgunner of a B-24. For a number of years, he was awarded the oldest veteran in attendance at the White County Fair.

In younger years, Houston loved to fish and hunt and always remained an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed feeding the birds outside his home each morning and was an excellent gardener.

He is survived by his son, Doug Bell (Pat) of Heber Springs; daughter, Brenda Grubbs (Larry) of Garland, Texas; 2 brothers, Ben and Bob; 2 sisters, Adella and Lucy Mae; 4 grandchildren, Angela Grubbs, Clint Bell, Dusty Morgan and Amy Lothian; 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Naoma Bell; children, Jane Bell and Dwight Bell; siblings, Harold, Billy, Louise and Betty; 2 grandchildren, Jason Bell and Steven Grubbs.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery near Plainview. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob – Judsonia.
