CITIZEN NEWSPAPER, Monday, July 7, 1947

H. Z. Bell, Retired Farmer, DEAD

H. Z. Bell, aged 85, retired farmer, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gracie Pomlinson of Kensett, Friday. Other surviviors are 2 daughters, Mrs. Beulah Cowan, of Kentucky, and Mrs. Rosie Martin of Orville, Calif; three sons, J. L., of Garner, Willie, of Sikeston, Mo., and Sanford of Georgetown. Funeral services were held at Garner cemetery at 11:00 a. m. Sunday. Burial was by Collison Funeral Home of Bald Knob.

There are several mistakes in this. He died at his daughter, Gracie (Bell) Tomlinson's house, not Pomlinson. His birthday was September 29, 1856. He was not 85, he was 91.

*When Henry Z. Bell was born on September 29, 1856, in Rutherford, Tennessee, his father, Zadock, was 32 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 29. He had three sons and four daughters. He died on July 3, 1947, in Kensett, Arkansas, at the age of 90, and was buried in Garner, Arkansas.
