Calvin Harrison Allred, 90, of Ozark, Arkansas passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014, in Ozark.
He was the son of John and Geneva Horner Allred, born April 3, 1924 in Altus, Arkansas.

Brought up in the Methodist faith, Calvin was a very modest man and a true southern gentleman. He graduated from Ozark High School in 1942.
A World War II veteran, he entered the Army in 1943 and served in the European Theater. He received several medals: Bronze SV Star "Central Europe", Eamet Campaign Ribbon, Cluster for Unit Citation, Bronze SV Star "Rhineland", American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Presidential Citation for Unit, Combat Infantry Badge, and Army of Occupation Medal. While serving in Germany, Calvin met and married Irene Elsishans.
After his discharge from the Army, Calvin attended college in southeast Oklahoma where he received a degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He began his career with the National Foundation Life Insurance Company of Oklahoma and later worked with United National Corporation in Annapolis, Maryland. He was a very dedicated hard worker and earned many awards for his accomplishments. He later worked in real estate and development as a private insurance and securities consultant.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irene of 55 years, three sisters, and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife of six years, Dortha Mae Blanscet Allred, one son Kim Allred and his wife Patty and family of Florida, brother-in-law Bobby Blanscet of Ozark, step-daughter Barbara Titcher and family of Texas, step-son Rick Ultsch and his family of Texas, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Harrison Allred, a nephew, has always been a special part of his life.

There will be a memorial service with military honors at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Highland Cemetery in Ozark , with Reverend William Gage officiating.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Harrison Allred, Bobby Blanscet, Rich Ultsch, Louis Titcher, Simon Tait, Darren Davis, Chris Ultsch and Matt Ultsch.

Reni Allred, 77, of Daytona Beach, Fla., formerly of Ozark, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, in Ormond Beach, Fla. She was born July 22, 1925, in Edingen-Neckar, Germany. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Highland Cemetery in Ozark. She is survived by her husband, Calvin; a son, Kim Allred of Palm Bay, Fla.; and two grandchildren. Myrna Wallis POCOLA — Myrna Inez Wallis, 61, of Pocola died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was retired from Whirlpool. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro. She is survived by a daughter, Tamara Rawley of Fort Smith; a son, Joel Dean Bolen of Fort Smith; three sisters; two brothers; and four grandchildren.
