Bentonville — Joel Enoch Truitt, 82, died yesterday afternoon at Bates Memorial Hospital. He was born March 10, 1881 at Elm Springs and attended school in Decatur. From 1915 to 1930 he was road overseer for Decatur Township, and from 1935 to 1938 he was overseer of roads for Benton County WPA road projects. From 1939 to 1949 he was road supervisor for Benton County. He was a member of the Decatur school board for 25 years; a member of the Oddfellows; Masonic Lodge, and the Decatur Methodist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Lough, Rogers; two sons, Leonard and Charles of Decatur; nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Decatur Methodist Church, with burial at Fallen Springs Cemetery under direction of Burns Funeral Home.

ROGERS (Special) — Mrs. Ann Laura Truitt, 81, died at Bates Memorial Hospital yesterday after a short illness. She was born Sept. 25, 1880, near Decatur, lived in Rogers for the last 16 months, and was a member of the Decatur Methodist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Enoch; two sons, Charles and Leonard, both of Decatur; one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Lough of Rogers; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Decatur Methodist Church by the Rev. Aubra Hays. Burial will be in Falling Springs Cemetery under the direction of Burns Funeral Home.
