Viola Jean "Bobbie" Martin, age 80, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at Southridge Assisted Living in Heber Springs. Born in Rose Bud on October 22, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Viola (McIntire) Chandler. A longtime resident of Heber Springs, Mrs. Martin retired from Wal-Mart after working as an associate for many years. She was a member of the Heber Springs First General Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wayne Martin, who passed away September 30, 2013, and by five brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Martin is survived by three sons, Charles E. Martin, Ronald W. Martin, and Danny J. Martin and his wife, Shannon; one daughter, Glenda Burton and her husband, Buzz, all of Heber Springs; seven grandchildren, Jeannie May, Skyler Craig, David Burton, Charles W. Martin, II, Haley Parker, Makenzie Martin, and Adam Martin; four great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild. Mrs. Martin is also survived by other relatives and her many friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 12, at 2:00 p.m. in the Heber Springs First General Baptist Church . Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home. www.olmstead.cc
