HENDERSON, D.W. - Capt. D.W. Henderson died on last Thursday evening at his home five miles northeast of Rogers. He was 80 years old and a veteran of the Mexican and Civil Wars. Funeral services were held at the home on Friday afternoon at two o'clock and were conducted by Reverend Holloway of the Baptist church of this city. The remains were interred in the Rogers cemetery where his wife was laid to rest about six years ago. Since the death of his wife Capt. Henderson had lived at home with his daughter, Miss Nellie. Capt. Henderson leaves five children. His son, Rev. G.W. Henderson of Little Rock arrived on Friday evening, too late to attend the funeral but accompanied the remains to the cemetery.

HENDERSON, Sarah J. CAULK- Sarah J. Henderson, daughter of Jas. P. and Sarah Caulk, was born in Nashville, Tenn. June 29th, 1829. Her parents moved to Macoupin county, Ill. while she was yet an infant. There she was raised and there she was married to D.W. Henderson in 1844 yet in her 16th year. They moved to Kansas and from there to Rogers, Ark. in 1881. They lived together 51 years and he still remains to mourn his loss. From this union was born 14 children, 5 of whom survive her. She has followed 8 to their last resting place, 7 of whom died before 13 years of age, and one, the wife of Jas. B. Travis, died at the age of 21, while living in Kansas. The oldest living one, Anna E. Smales, resides in Sopris, Colo., Mrs. Dena Slaughter in Aurora, Mo., E.S. and E.C. Henderson both live on farms northeast of Rogers, Geo. M. Henderson resides in this city and is pastor of the M. E. Church, Nettie Henderson, the only one not married, resides at the home of her father in Rogers. Our mother was converted and united with the Baptist church in 1852. She was a faithful wife, devoted mother and a consistent Christian. None of her children but what has been baptized thousands of times with a mother's tears. She has been a sufferer for many years. Four years ago she was stricken with paralysis, revived but has not taken a step since and could not get about only as she was lifted. Three weeks ago she was again prostrated and suffered with patience until Sunday evening, Dec. 29, 1895. Children.
