BREWER, William E. - William E. Brewer, aged 57, died at his home in the north part of Bentonville Monday afternoon. He had been in ill health for about two years. He was wounded in the Philippines and for the past year had suffered from heart disease and asthma. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the M.E. Church, South. Burial was made in the Rogers cemetery. Mr. Brewer was born in Granby, Mo. March 22, 1876 where he grew to manhood. He enlisted in the United States Army at the outbreak of the Spanish American War. He saw service in the Philippines where he was wounded and later was sent with his regiment to China during the Boxer Uprising. Retiring from the army Mr. Brewer engaged in farming in California and Arizona. In 1915 he married his present wife in Ukiah, Calif. To them were born seven children. Mr. Brewer and his family moved to Arkansas about six years ago locating near Fayetteville. Three years ago he moved to Bentonville. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and K. of P. Lodges as well as an active worker in the Spanish War post of this city. Besides his widow he is survived by seven children, Charles, Florence, Paul, Robert, Helen, Alice and Joseph, all of the home. Also by two brothers, R.L. Brewer, a business man of Rogers; G.A. Brewer of Dallas and by four sisters, Mrs. E.A. McKelm and Mrs. Sid Smith of Electra, Texas; Mrs. Perry Smith, Bay City, Texas and Mrs. J.C. Hedrick of Oakhurst, Texas.

Mrs. Reva Dathine Brewer, 81, 711 Northwest 6th St., Bentonville, died April 23 at her home. Born Sept. 5, 1893, at Kansas City, Mo., she was the daughter of Maurice and Anna Thom Sweet, a member of First United Methodist Church, Bentonville, the American Legion Auxiliary, past president of Spanish American War Auxiliary and was a retired employe of a foods processing plant. She moved to Bentonville from Kansas in 1928.

Survivors include four sons, Carl Brewer, Salinas, Calif., Bob Brewer, Rogers, Paul Brewer, Bentonville, and Joe Brewer, Harrison; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Marie Womack and Mrs. Alice Mae Johnson, Bentonville; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday at 3 p.m. in First United Methodist Church, Bentonville, with the Rev. Sam Teague officiating. Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Bentonville.

Because of her many years of service in First United Methodist Church nursery, the family requests memorials be made to that department.

Charlie Brewer, the three-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Brewer near Tontitown, Arkansas, died yesterday afternoon after a few days illness of membranous croup. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Rogers cemetery in charge of J.W. Bryant. The child was a nephew of R.L. Brewer of the American National bank.
