O. A. Downing of Gosnell, died Saturday in the Chickasawba Hopsital. He was 60.
Born in Jasper, Alabama, he had lived here about 40 years.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Flossie Downing; five sons, William E. Downing, Adran Downing, and Joe Downing, all of Fort Worth, Texas, Ben H. Downing and Ronald Kirk Downing, both of Blytheville; five daughters, Mrs. Madge Pruitt, Marilyn Wright, Mrs. Donna Faye Moore, Mrs. Shirley Ann Moore and Miss Pamela Joyce Downing, all of Blytheville; three sisters, Mrs. Nadie Owens of Clarksdale, Miss., Mrs. Joyce Duken of Detroit, Mrs. Juanita Jewuitt of Flint, Mich.; five brothers, Ben Downing of Montgomery, Ala., Rufus Downing of Quillin, Mo., Edgar Downing of Libougn, Mo., Hershell Downing of Fenton, Mo., Leroy Downing of Jackson, Miss.; and 23 grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. William L. Kreis officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Jones, Leland Jones, S. D. Atatan, Norman Davis, Norman Shields and Jewel Grant.
