Joe Downing, 76, a retired farmer, died yesterday at his home in Risco, Missouri. Born in Alabama, he was a Blytheville resident about 25 years before moving to Missouri in 1955. He was a Baptist.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mae Fletcher Downing of Risco; a daughter, Mrs. J. T. Butler of St. Louis; a son, Raymond Downing of Parma, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Bella Swan and Mrs. Effa Quick, both of Hanceville, Ala.; 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. P. H. Jernigan officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
