Freda Jane Sims Cooper, 53, died at her Blytheville home Friday, Jan. 16, 2009. Born at Lepanto on July 22, 1955, she is the daughter of Arvil and Ruby Sims. She was a graduate of Rivercrest High School and recently retired from the offices of United Way in Memphis. She is a longtime resident of the Mississippi County area.
She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda and Earl Jackson of Manila, and Shirley and John Allen of Monticello, Ga.; nieces, Melita Ellington, Gina Green, Rhonda Metheny, Dana Simpkins, Stacy Dumser, Laura Cockrell, Amy Hill, Tara Garrett; nephews David Leffler, Tim Long; a niece and closest friend, Melinda Gonzales, of Blytheville and numerous grand-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Monday evening at Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto. Funeral services were 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Greg Delancey officiating.
Burial was in Potter Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home.
