Wife of Felix Sumner Brashears
Mary Jo Brashears, 93, of Huntsville, Ark., died Sept. 22, 2010, at her home. She was born Sept. 26, 1916, at Wharton, Ark., the daughter of Walter Scott and Della Dotson Boomer.
She was a 1934 graduate of Huntsville State Vocational School and had been a licensed funeral director for over 50 years.
She served as secretary and treasurer of Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville until her death.
She was the widow of Felix Sumner Brashears, who preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1991. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Billie Boomer; and her stepfather, Charles Bishop.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lucina Brashears of Huntsville, Ark., one son and daughter-in-law, Sumner and Jackie Brashears of Huntsville, Ark.; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Stacy and Tracy Easterling of Huntsville, Ark.; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Gara and Cody Mosier of Huntsville, Ark.; two great-grandsons, Quade Mosier and Kross Easterling, both of Huntsville, Ark.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. James P. Fleming officiating.
Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery, under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, of Huntsville, Ark. Pallbearers will be James Vawter, Ivan Box, M.D., Bill Fowler, David Duncan, Garry Morris, Ronnie McFee, Randy Shinn, David Marlow, Stacy Easterling and Cody Mosier.
