Clay M. Officer, popular and well-known farmer, who lives about four miles south of Huntsville on Route 1, died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday night about 10:30 o'clock. He was 33 years old.
It was reported that Clay came in from work with a severe headache but went about his usual farm chores and milked several cows. Later a doctor was called as he became worse but Mr. Officer died before the doctor reached him.
He was born at Huntsville April 19, 1924, and was a lifelong resident. He was married to the former Miss Lois Jameson, who survives. Other survivors are two sons, Jimmy and Jerry; his father, Mack Officer of Route 3 Huntsville; his mother, Mrs. Ella Haney Officer of Route 1, Huntsville; and a sister, Mrs. Aria Bowman of California.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Brashears Funeral Home Chapel by Joe Sponaugle, minister of the Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Huntsville cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Montgomery, Bruce Elzey, Honsel Benegar, Dewel Walker, Harvey Turner and Bill Gene Thomas.
