PUCKETT, Charles - Charles Puckett, youngest son of Mr. Joe Puckett of this city, aged 27 years, five months and 21 days, was killed last Thursday in Tulsa, the result of an accident with another employee of the Cosden Oil Co. Young Puckett was returning from work when the car in which they riding skidded in the sand and was overturned. Puckett was caught under the car and was so badly crushed that he died that night in the hospital to which he had been hurried as quickly as possible. Will Puckett, an uncle of the deceased, left for Tulsa as soon as the word was received here and accompanied the body back to Rogers. Funeral services were held from the home of Mrs. Puckett on South A street Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C.C. Cunningham, assisted by Rev. Armstrong of the Baptist church. The young man was a nephew of Postmaster John C. Puckett and of Hugh Puckett and was born and raised here, where he has a large number of relatives and friends who were grief stricken at the untimely death.

The driver of the other car failed to stop but it is thought he may be identified by the damage to his car. Upon their rescue from under neath the wreck it was found that Miss Puckett was dead. The others were removed to a Rogers hospital where it was found that Mrs. Puckett was badly injured and her husband suffered a crushed shoulder. Miss Puckett was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Puckett, South Arkansas street, and a sister of Will Puckett. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Virgie Preston of Rogers and Mrs. Myrtle Temple of Fulton, Ky. The family is widely known.
