June 8, 1927 - September 16, 1999
Billie June Barnett, 72, of Crossett died Thursday, September 16, 1999, at the Dermott city nursing home. A native of Ashley County, she worked at the Hamburg Shirt Factory for 18 years and was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by a son, Marshall Glenn Barnett; her parents, Virgil and Chloe Doss Cooley; and a brother, Cecil Cooley. Survivors are a son, Billy E. Harris of Dermott; two daughters, Carolyn Harris and Jodean Tew of Crossett; four brothers, Glenn and Dewayne Cooley of Crossett, Virgil Cooley, Jr., of Tennessee and Robert Cooley of Alexandria, LA; two sisters, Eloise McClain of Crossett and Dorothy Johnson of White Hall; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 18, in the Cromwell Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Roy Craig officiating. Pallbearers were Darren Cooley, Clifford Cooley, Gary Farmer, Richard Childress and Keith Stevenson. Burial followed services at the Simms Cemetery.
