William A. Hinkle, 83, a retired farmer, died Friday in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, born Aug. 23, 1882 in Fayetteville, the son of Marion Frank and Leona Rutherford Hinkle. He was a member if Christ's Church.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Minnie Hinkle of the home; two sons, John and Mack both of Fayetteville; one daughter, Mrs. Bell Jones of Florida, S.C.; two brothers, Newt and Oscar, both of Fayetteville; one sister, Mrs. Kate Wilks of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Moor'es Chapel with burial in Buckner Cemetery.

Mrs. Minnie M. Hinkle, 89, Fayetteville, died Sept. 5, at a Fayetteville hospital. Born Jan. 19, 1887, at Fayetteville, she was the daughter of John and Missouri Brickley Wilson. She was the widow of the late William A. Hinkle who died in 1966, and she was a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, John and Mack Hinkle, both of Fayetteville; one daughter, Mrs. Bill Jones, Florence, S.C.; 10 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, with Rev. Johnnie Sisemore officiating. Burial was in Buckner Cemetery under direction Moore's.

Pallbearers were Wayne Hinkle, Ralph Brooks, Pat Brooks, C.H. Fitzgerald, Lester Hinkle and Hugh Hinkle.

All memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
