Hershel Dean "Leon" Corter, 69, of Mountain View died Saturday, July 13, 2002, at a Mountain View hospital.
Born in Big Flat, he was the son of Thomas Edgar Corter and Bevie Lou Brewer Corter. He was retired, having been a construction worker at Mountain View Ready Mix. He attended Levisy Flat Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife, Sallie Sue Canard Corter; three sons, Johnny Corter, Hershel Corter and Dean Corter; three brothers, James Corter, William Corter and Euel Corter; two sisters, Dessie Lee Moody and Gwen Thompson; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. today at Levisy Flat Christian Fellowship Church with Allen Cartwright and David Campbell officiating. Burial was in Levisy Flat Cemetery with arrangements by Roller Coffman Crouch Funeral Home of Mountain View.
Pallbearers were Bob Broyles, Josh Corter, Jonathan Corter, Steve Moody, Tony Corter and Edwin Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Broyles, Aubry Copeland, Jason Sanchez and Heath Corter.
