James Paul Corter, 87, of Mtn. View entered into rest on September 18, 2010 in Mtn. View.
James was born August 3, 1923 in Big Flat to Thomas Edgar and Bevie Lue (Brewer) Corter.
He was a member of Levisy Flat Christian Fellowship and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a woodworker.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas Glen Corter and James Blaine Corter; daughter Marjorie Lou Shaw and husband Ivan; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild; two sisters, Dessie Moody and Gwen Thompson and a brother, William Roy Corter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edger and Bevie Corter; his wife, Esther Corter; son, Johnny Wayne Corter and brothers, Guy and Leon Corter.
Visitation is 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Roller Coffman Chapel, Mtn. View.
Funeral service is 1 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Levisy Flat Christian Fellowship in Mtn. View with Bro. Coy Sutterfield officiating and interment in Levisy Flat Cemetery, Mtn. View. Music by Bro. David Campbell and Billy Corter.
Pallbearers are Chris Corter, Al Wroblewski, Ed Thompson, Matt Avey, Tim Moody and Tony Corter. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Corter, Billy Corter, Steve Moody and Ricky Corter.
Roller Coffman Funeral Home, Mtn. View is in charge of the arrangements.
